Raymarine launches new Remote and Control apps

Raymarine has launched a new series of apps which enable users to control e and c-Series multifunction displays wirelessly from a smartphone or tablet. These two new apps – RayRemote and RayControl - are now available for Apple iOS, Android and Kindle Fire.

Mulder Shipyard selects Raymarine

Dutch yacht builder Mulder Shipyard has chosen to install Raymarine’s new e125 and e127 advanced and easy to use multifunction displays, along with Raymarine’s thermal night vision cameras as standard fit across all its ranges. Raymarine electronics will be included as standard on all Mulder Favorite, Mulder Wheelhouse, Mulder Convertible and Mulder Flybridge series.

The Raymarine specification on Mulder yachts also includes the G Series premium network navigation system, VHF DSC radio systems and instruments.

Elling Yachts installs Raymarine

Netherlands-based Elling Yachts has chosen to install the latest Raymarine technology on the Elling E3 (13.8 m) and Elling E4 (14.95 m) motor yachts. Every three weeks a new Elling fitted with Raymarine’s e and c Series multifunction displays leaves the factory, with the latest deliveries being made to Estonian, Russian, Swedish and Dutch customers.

Carbon3, racing trimaran optimised for speed, selects Raymarine for its navigation solutions

Carbon3, the racing trimaran designed exclusively for speed, has announced it will be using Raymarine’s latest high tech and compact marine electronics equipment on board. The announcement was made at the Copenhagen Boat Show by Michael Krumbaek, Country Manager for Raymarine Danmark and Jonas Pedersen, Head of the Carbon3 project. This unique 40 foot long and 32 foot wide trimaran was built in Denmark and is Denmark’s fastest sail racing boat with speeds of around 32 knots.

Raymarine launches gyro stabilised thermal night vision

Raymarine announced the newest addition to its family of thermal night vision products for boaters, the T470SC gyro-stabilised thermal camera.

Engineered with FLIR thermal imaging technology the T470SC is equipped with a high resolution, long-range thermal imager, a color low light visible TV camera with 10:1 optical zoom, and active gyro-stabilisation.

Raymarine announces promotion for Greg Wells

Greg Wells, who joined Raymarine in June 2011 when the company acquired Tacktick, has been promoted to the role of EMEA OEM Sales Manager.

Greg is based at Raymarine’s UK headquarters in Fareham, Hampshire. With over six years of experience at Tacktick, Greg‘s new role will be to work with Raymarine’s European, Middl e East and African distributors and subsidiaries to develop and maintain key Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) relationships in these regions.

Raymarine signs agreement with World Cruising Club

Raymarine, the world’s leading manufacturer of marine electronics, safety and communication products, has signed a Corporate Membership agreement with the World Cruising Club, the largest organiser of international sailing rallies in the world.

Getting trapped by a sudden and severe snow storm is every driver’s nightmare. When the visibility suddenly drops, drivers are unable to see the road ahead and cars and their occupants are at the mercy of the elements.

Gulf Development Systems, Raymarine’s distributor in the United Arab Emirates will be supporting the Dubai pre-Owned Boat Show, taking place at Dubai Creek Marina from 17-19 November.

The event attracts buyers looking for pre-owned boats in the region, with space for craft up to 147 feet long on show in the water and on land. This is the second time that Raymarine has exhibited at the event, and this year will prove particularly exciting with the launch at the show of the new e7 multifunction display unit, i70 instruments and Raymarine’s hand held thermal night vision cameras.

Ferryside Independent Lifeboat is first to benefit from Raymarine’s new e7 technology

One of the first boats to be installed with Raymarine’s new e7 HybridTouch™ multifunction displays is the new Ferryside Independent Lifeboat. This custom built Ribcraft 6.4m lifeboat is a ‘declared facility’ and is responsible for answering 999 calls in the same way as the RNLI. The Ferryside lifeboats operate in the Carmarthenshire region, working in the extremely fast flowing and tidal waters of the Bristol Channel with its notorious mud flats and sinking sands.

Jock Wishart and crew rely on Raymarine

Jock Wishart and his five fellow oarsmen have achieved a world first by rowing 450 miles to reach the recognised (1996) position of the magnetic North Pole*. The ‘Old Pulteney Row to the Pole’ was an extreme feat of endurance, as the team rowed the specially designed ‘ice boat’ equipped with Raymarine’s safety, communications and navigational equipment to arrive at the Magnetic North Pole’s certified position of 78° 35.7N 104° 11.9W at 1230am GMT on 26th August 2011.
